I'm not claiming to be a genius designer or even particularly awesome at the craft--I'm just a girl who loves to try stuff and then talk about it for a while.</subtitle><link rel='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#feed' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://ronniecrochet.blogspot.com/feeds/posts/default'/><link rel='self' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/5730401914749642027/posts/default?max-results=100'/><link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://ronniecrochet.blogspot.com/'/><link rel='hub' href='http://pubsubhubbub.appspot.com/'/><author><name>Ronnie</name><uri>http://www.blogger.com/profile/09678904104093123855</uri><email>noreply@blogger.com</email><gd:image rel='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#thumbnail' width='16' height='16' src='http://img2.blogblog.com/img/b16-rounded.gif'/></author><generator version='7.00' uri='http://www.blogger.com'>Blogger</generator><openSearch:totalResults>1</openSearch:totalResults><openSearch:startIndex>1</openSearch:startIndex><openSearch:itemsPerPage>100</openSearch:itemsPerPage><entry><id>tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5730401914749642027.post-1395688632618993905</id><published>2009-04-01T23:01:00.003-05:00</published><updated>2009-04-01T23:21:10.476-05:00</updated><title type='text'>IT IS ALIIIIIIIIIIIVE!</title><content type='html'>&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So I finally finished the Neck Thingy I've been working on!  Yeah, I know, technical term, right?  Well, it's sort of like a button-on turtleneck, or a really small scarf.  I was walking to drama practice the other night, hunched into the fuzzy-collared coat that I borrowed from my boyfriend, when it hit me: even though scarf season is LONG over, it's still too cold and windy to be without something to fill in the gap between coat/hoodie and hat!  &lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;A partial ball of Bernat Natural Blends Bamboo and a little while later, I had a lovely rectangle with two buttonholes on one end.  Exactly what I wanted, but I still needed buttons to make the creation sing.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;Well, today I was able to get to the craft store, and I got these spiffy wooden-looking buttons that go just &lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-style: italic;"&gt;perfectly&lt;/span&gt; with the greenish color of the yarn.  I wore it to practice today, and it is amazing!  I don't even realize I'm wearing it, the yarn is so soft (I am officially addicted to bamboo yarn).  I think it looks pretty cute, too.  Here it is:&lt;a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_h8nqZCqYkGc/SdQ7nVbCSbI/AAAAAAAAAAM/bwnoDHPuYHc/s1600-h/neckthingy.jpg" style="text-decoration: none;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;img style="text-decoration: underline;display: block; margin-top: 0px; margin-right: auto; margin-bottom: 10px; margin-left: auto; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px; " src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_h8nqZCqYkGc/SdQ7nVbCSbI/AAAAAAAAAAM/bwnoDHPuYHc/s320/neckthingy.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5319942606782876082" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;My webcam is not amazing at showing the stitch definition.  I think, if I were to do it over again, I'd make it narrower and then edge it so that it looked a little smoother on the sides.  Ah well, it's comfy and now I have a spiffy Neck Thingy to keep my neck warm while I wait for Chicago to realize that IT IS SPRING TIME!!! GLARG!&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;I'm still debating whether to put up a pattern for this.  It's SO easy...just a rectangle with button holes on one end and then buttons on the other.  On the other hand, I'm pretty proud of it. . .
